This Final Year Group Project is a short documentary with social media cutdowns where we have to identify and document a Singaporean hawker whose story extends beyond what they sell, focusing on their motivations, sacrifices, and personal struggles rather than producing a food review.

Hawker Hustle: Behind Botak Porridge is a video project that goes beyond the hawker stall to tell the human story behind it. Through an interview with Ms Lim Hwee Yi, a former policewoman and President’s bodyguard who took over her family’s porridge stall, the video explores her drastic career transition, the challenges of managing a hawker business, how she navigated the responsibility of continuing her family’s legacy, and her hopes for both her future and the stall’s next chapter.

In Republic Polytechnic, Year 3 students are sent out to different companies for an internship that is highly related to their diploma. For my internship, my role and position was the Marketing Intern. I created social media posts and videos throughout my internship period for a company called BGI Management

In the Diploma of Media Production and Design, students are exposed to modules such as Single-Camera Productions and Advanced Single-Camera Production where we learn basic camera work as well as introduction to editing using software such as Adobe Premier Pro. Modules such as Multi-Camera Production teaches students to handle a live production with various roles. Color Grading and Motion Graphics are taught through various modules as well.

Apart from video works, the Diploma in Media Production and Design offers modules where students learn to use software such as Adobe Illustrator and InDesign to create Graphic Design works
